![]() If not I Have one posted under "Other Amps" section on the Marshallheads forum.Ĭlick to expand.I am using a Marshall YJM100 to cover the same artists you mentioned here at my church. I have tried an AC30 and it did not do it for me at all. Lincoln Brewster is normally using either a Line 6 or an Axe FX unit dialed in as 68 Variaced Marshall Plexi. He also uses a Boss overdrive pedal and some delay. That is pretty much his sound and he gets most of his variations in tone from changing pickups or playing with his Strats volume and tone knobs. Bands like Hillsong and Chris Tomlin have a ton of guitar parts on their records. A JCM800 would be fine also, but you won't have the luxury of having power scaling and the YJM100's other bag of tricks.Īn old school sounding Marshall that is very open sounding and not too compressed or buzzy, such as the YJM100 will do a great job nailing the main guitar parts to their songs. ![]() The Lincoln Brewster song here for example is all MARSHALL and would not sound the same to my ears otherwise. ![]() A lot of worship guys are using old school tube amps like Vox and Fender, but a lot of guys are using custom built or boutique tube amps which are going for the old school Marshall Plexi sound though obtainable at more church friendly volumes.
